The Rio Grande through Santa Elena Canyon is a roaring, 30-foot-deep flume in storm season, but you could walk across into Mexico this day. Heading north
from Big Bend NP, I toured Marathon (pop. 455), saw the 4-lane track of the HS, as well as the entire graduating class outside the church doors.
